Welcome to the Foundation Course Activities Page

Here are some of the activities we may complete as part of the DEI Inclusion Foundation Programme, however these sessions are led by you, so we may not cover them all

Exercise 1

Group Discussion

Exercise 1, Additional Information

In your groups start to think about why Diversity, Equity and particularly INCLUSION, drives the above benefits?

Take each benefit and discuss why representation, diversity-of-thought, diversity-of-experience and a psychologically safe working environment contributes to improved performance.

Think about ...

  • Commercial Benefits (profits, new business, retention, reputational, new products)
  • Individual Benefits (mental health, wellbeing, creativity, emotional contagion)

Exercise 2

7 Real Case Studies

    Group Discussion

    Exercise 2, Additional Information

In your groups 1 person should read aloud a case study example, and then the group should discuss if they believe this to be an example of

    • Direct Discrimination
    • Indirect Discrimination
    • Harassment
    • Victimisation

The group should discuss why you have chosen your answers, and be prepared to feedback to the wider group

    Helpful Reminders, Definitions

      Exercise 3

      Group Discussion

      Exercise 3, Additional Information

In your groups look at your organisation through the lens of a SAOR Analysis.  Use the 18 point recruitment model as the basis for the conversation

S - Strengths:  What are we doing well already, we can build on?

O - Opportunities:  What could we be doing better / focus on / priorties?

A - Aspirations:   What are our clients & stakeholders asking us for (DEI)?

R - Results:  What do we think good looks like (our company & me personally)?
